This title is not an understatement. My life forever changed in both major and minor ways once I read 'Your Dream Life Starts Here.'
I am eternally grateful for my friend Kendra who recommended it and convinced me to give it a try, despite my skepticism. I had never been one to spend time dreaming or imagining (as I’m more obsessed with my to-do list), but I felt stuck in my life and wasn’t sure what to do next. After reading just a couple chapters, I was filled with hope and excitement of what a reimagined life could look like. I finally felt like I had some direction as my ‘purpose’ began to emerge.
I not only wanted to live my best and healthiest life but wanted to empower others to do so. After countless hours of researching how to improve my health, this blog seemed like the natural next step to share what I discovered. My hope is that you can learn from my experience and recent journey in taking small steps to become healthier—both physically and mentally—without being overwhelmed in the process.
If you want to make any changes (big or small) in your life, then this book is for you! The structured approach provides you with the tools you need to identify what a joyful and fulfilled life could be and how to get there. It is inspiring to be in the driver’s seat as you evaluate various areas of your life and identify ways to improve them. If you don't get the book, then make sure to brainstorm some ways that would make your life more enjoyable and one or two small changes you can make to help get you there. And please let me know what they are in the comments below! Some new additions to my life from my taking the time to dream include adding a swing on the balcony, keeping my Sundays free, and adding pushups to my workout routine—I can actually do 10 in a row now 😉.
I have learned that while dreaming can be scary, it reveals what is on your heart and can courageously guide you to a more enjoyable, meaningful, and less depressing life.
